At around 8 p.m. on 11/18/19, the victim went to his friend’s residence at 4500 Block of 101st St. W. to pick up some furniture. While there, the victim got into a verbal altercation in the yard with David Nichols who also happened to be at the residence.

The victim left on foot, walking southbound on 101st St. W. when Nichols struck him with his vehicle. Nichols then drove westbound on 46th Ave. W. while dragging the victim underneath the vehicle for approximately one block. Nichols fled the scene in his vehicle, and a nearby resident who heard the victim yelling for help in the roadway called 911.

The victim sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision, to include several open fractures and significant head trauma. EMS responded and transported him to Blake Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. His condition remains critical.

Deputies located the suspected vehicle at a nearby mobile home park and Nichols was taken into custody shortly after at 113th St. W. / Cortez Rd. Nichols is charged with Attempted Murder.
