Person/Suspect Info
DEPUTY MELVIN BURSTON & DEPUTY DAVID PIERRE

While transporting an inmate to dialysis, Deputy Melvin Burston and Deputy David Pierre came into contact with Mrs. Annette Rule, who was also receiving treatment at the facility. The deputies noticed that Mrs. Rule’s walker was broken with a bad wheel and she told them she was getting a new one.

The next time they saw her at the facility, she was still using the broken walker and hadn’t received a new one. Deputy Burston and Deputy Pierre ordered her a new walker from Amazon. They gave Mrs. Rule the walker at the next visit to the treatment facility. Mrs. Rule was so impressed and appreciative she contacted Sergeant Finger.

They could have gone about their business and not even spoken with Mrs. Rule, but they took it upon themselves to ask about her walker and followed up when they saw she didn’t have a new one. For their act of kindness, Deputy Melvin Burston and Deputy David Pierre have been awarded the agency’s Deputy of the Month for December.
